5 Tips for a Stress Free Wedding Day

  1. Do what you want.

There’s only one requirement for a wedding and that’s a ceremony. Seriously, just do whatever you want. It’s your wedding day and you only get one! Have a brunch wedding then go day drinking across the city, skip the traditions, do all of the traditions, throw a black-tie affair, hire your favorite band, hire your friend’s band, serve cheeseburgers and fries and milkshakes, get ready together, there are no rules.

  2. Trust in your vendors.

You hired your vendors for their skills and expertise so allow them to help you, be creative, make suggestions and do what they need to do.

  3. Don’t cram things into a short timeline, prioritize instead.

If you cram too many things into a short timeline your day will feel like it’s flying by, you’ll constantly be having to check the time to keep things moving, and you can’t be truly present. Instead, prioritize what’s most important to you, discuss where you need what you want and where you can cut corners, and ask your vendors for help!

  4. Enjoy the planning process.

Picking colors and flowers and food and desserts and a band is supposed to be FUN, ya’ll. Not stressful. You’re getting married and there’s honestly a lot of perks to that- so enjoy them!

  5. Hire a wedding planner or coordinator.

If you’re just not a good planner and you’re totally overwhelmed, it’s best to hire someone who knows what they’re doing. Never underestimate what a planner can do for your experience and stress levels. More info on planners in my blog post here.
